Jolie Somoano-Santiago
Fashion Marketing and Management
As a Fashion Marketing and Management student, with RFi, I am excited to support my family heritage and rethink how creative industries approach supply chain and consumer connection. Growing up in Queens, New York, I have seen firsthand how the lack of green resources marginalizes communities, which has made me a long-term advocate for the preservation of green space.
Merritt Brenner
Hi! My name is Merritt, and I’m a Furniture Design student at SCAD. RFI changed the way I see design. To be exposed to such a green environment with people passionate about helping the community and the planet was so exciting. RFI is actively changing the world through syntropic agroforestry and bamboo construction, and it was incredible to see firsthand.
Alhana
Interior Design & Industrial Design
Hi! My name is Alhana, and I’m an Interior Design student with a minor in Industrial Design at SCAD. My passion lies in blending sustainability with architecture and interiors to create spaces that feel both restorative and innovative. I draw inspiration from tropical and coastal landscapes, and I love incorporating natural materials in ways that make people feel connected to the outdoors even when inside.
I’ve explored this through projects with SCADpro and by participating in regenerative building experiences abroad, where I worked hands-on with bamboo construction and community design. My goal is to continue fostering spaces that are inclusive, functional, and in harmony with nature—advocating for design as a tool for both people and the planet.
