Architectural Engineering
RFI was an incredible opportunity and experience to get involved in. I was able to learn practical skills within my interests and even found many more interests that I would have never been exposed to without the trip. Some of my favorite parts were learning about the bamboo materials we got to use on many occasions throughout the farm. I built many friendships throughout the process of learning and would never have dreamed of being part of such an impactful and passionate group of people.

Architecture with minors in Entrepreneurship and Construction Management
The RFI trip last summer was an unforgettable experience for me. Apart from the amazing friendships I created, I am so grateful for the experience to make a real impact in a community full of culture, positivity, and nature. I will never forget the hands-on work experience I gained that simply cannot be learned in a classroom. RFI creates memories that last a lifetime and the most rewarding experiences!

Civil Engineering
I’m a sophomore civil engineering student and volunteered with RFI in June 2025. I had an incredible experience meeting so many people who also love the Earth and regenerating its depleted wonders (like the Amazon rainforest). Additionally, I loved learning about architecture and structural engineering, bamboo as a construction material possibility, Ecuador’s ecological systems, and syntropic agriculture to create resilient ag systems!
